Embracing time-honored methods, our distillers are able to craft an Aquavit that’s made in Michigan, yet remains true to its Northern European roots.

We invite you to enjoy its notable herbs and spices in the company of friends and family – the way it’s been enjoyed for centuries!

Process & Techniques:

  • Milled from whole grain and fermented on site
  • Features a unique blend of botanicals, macerated for days in a traditional manner, including caraway, dill seed, fresh dill, star anise, cumin, fennel and more
  • Non-chill filtered
  • Aged in used Wheat and Rye Whisky barrels for over a year

Tasting Notes:

  • Aroma and flavor is led by heavy doses of caraway
  • Fresh dill provides a savory finish
  • Other traditional botanicals and spices include star anise, cumin, fennel and more, for a bold, flavorful spirit perfect for sipping or mixing in a drink
  • Barrel aging offers deep vanilla notes on the finish and rich complexity that amplifies some flavors and aromas, while mellowing the overall mouthfeel and finish

Cocktail Recipe

FT. LONG ROAD OLD AQUAVIT

Make it at home: Old Aquavit Old Fashioned! Ingredients needed: Long Road Old Aquavit, simple syrup, Peychaud’s Aromatic Cocktail Bitters*, Angostura Aromatic Bitters*, orange peel to garnish.

*Don’t have both types of bitters on hand? Try 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters instead. Or, experiment with other types/brands of bitters to find the flavor that suits your taste!

Tools needed: Rocks glass, jigger, mixing glass, Julep Strainer, Bar Spoon.

  1. Add 2 oz Old Aquavit to mixing glass.
  2. Add .5 oz simple syrup to mixing glass.
  3. Add a dash of Peychaud’s Bitters to mixing glass.*
  4. Add a dash of Angostura Bitters to mixing glass.*
  5. Add ice and stir evenly until ice begins to melt and settle into glass.
  6. Strain into glass over ice using Julep strainer.
  7. Garnish with orange twist.
  8. Enjoy!
