Grand Rapids – Host

Location: Long Road Distillers – Grand Rapids

POSITION OVERVIEW

Long Road Distillers, Grand Rapids’ first craft distillery, is adding Servers to our talented, energetic, and creative team. We work hard, enjoy what we do, and take pride in our spirits and level of service. We are dedicated to creating an exemplary experience for each and every customer, and need your help to accomplish that. We are looking for a self-starter who will quickly amass an in-depth familiarity with Long Road’s spirits and signature cocktails, as well as the operations of our bar and dining area. As the first line of service at Long Road, our bartenders and servers must be able to educate customers on our spirits, from the milling of the grain, all the way to the glass as part of a proper cocktail.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to include (but are not limited to):
Greet guests, take beverage orders directly from guests and from other service staff
Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
Collect payment for drinks and food orders served and balance all receipts
Serve drinks, snacks, and food orders to guests seated in dining area
Clear tables of dishes, utensils and glassware and bring to kitchen for washing
Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of spirits, cocktails, and food menu in order to answer questions or educate guests on LRD process and mission
Participate in regular training’s to learn about LRD spirits, drinks and food
Maintain a clean working area by sweeping, cleaning, and sanitizing as needed
Ensure chairs and floor area around tables and waiting area are clean
Assist with other duties as needed, particularly during opening and closing shifts
Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards

Boyne City – Retail Associate

Location: Long Road Distillers – Boyne City
Supervisor: Long Road Distillers – Boyne City – Tasting Room Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Long Road Distillers – Boyne City Tasting Room associate is responsible for creating an exceptional customer experience for all visitors to our Boyne City tasting room. This position will be responsible for greeting guests, serving samples, and introducing the Long Road Brand residents and visitors of Boyne City and the region. This is a part-time position with full- time opportunities during busy times.

QUALIFICATIONS

Availability to work primarily weekends and evenings;
Experience working with Michigan craft brands desirable;
Enjoys customer service;
Passion for brand building;
Spirits and cocktail knowledge a plus;
Serve Safe or TIPS certified prior to start date (employer supported);
Complete Bar Smarts certification within one month of hire date (employer supported);
Complete Bar Starts certification within 3 months of hire date (employer supported);
Able to lift and move up to 50lbs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet all customers in a timely courteous manner;
Tell all guests about Long Road products, company story, and company scope;
Guide guests in Long Road Spirits tasting;
Read customers needs, and make suggestions on upsells and other spirits;
Operate POS system;
Maintain a clean organized experience in the tasting room;
Restock merchandise and bottles;
Clear communication with tasting room manager on supply needs, inventory management, and customer needs

Grand Haven -Bartender

Location: Long Road Distillers – Grand Haven
Supervisor: Long Road Distillers -Grand Haven- Bar and Tasting Room Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Bar and Tasting Room Manager of Long Road Distillers is responsible for the daily operations of our Grand Haven location . The Bar and Tasting Room Manager is responsible for ensuring that all staff are providing LRD standards of customer service and that the tasting room is meeting and exceeding established Key Performance Indicators, all while fostering and maintaining a positive work environment that focuses on innovation and growth for the Long Road Brand and its employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 1 year cocktail bartending experience desired;
Minimum 3 years customer service experience;
Self-motivated and a self-starter;
Enjoys problem-solving;
Experience working with craft brands ;
Staff management and leadership experience desired;
Passionate about brand building;
Enjoys customers;
Enjoys employees;
Willingness to work long hours, primarily weekends and evenings;
Serve Safe Manager or TIPS Manager training prior to start date (employer supported)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Day to day management of all tasting room financials;
Manage service staff scheduling;
Employee hiring and training;
Maintain appropriate staffing pars throughout busy and not busy times;
Weekly reporting and analysis of GH-tasting room numbers at weekly managers meeting;
Schedule and lead monthly staff meeting;
Lead daily pre-meal with staff;
Ensure all staff have all assets needed to achieve successful communication during shift, ie: printed menus and feature sheets;
Control costs of vendor and store bought supplies, including but not limited to paper goods, linens;
Manage tasting room labor costs;
Manage tasting room costs of goods;
Manage all ordering;
Coordinate prep needs and deliveries with Grand Rapids location;
Create and coordinate systems for training, and implementation of new seasonal cocktail menus with Beverage Manager;
Positively and effectively coach staff to deliver LRD standards of service;
Work as floor supervisor during peak service times;
Handle customer concerns and praise.

Grand Haven – Line Cook

Location: Long Road Distillers – Grand Haven

POSITION OVERVIEW

Long Road Distillers, Grand Haven, is adding a Line Cook to our talented, energetic, and creative kitchen team. We work hard, enjoy what we do, and take pride in our spirits, food, and level of service. We are looking for a self-starter who will quickly amass an in-depth familiarity with the kitchen’s operations so that they may assist the Executive Chef and Prep Cook in preparing appetizers and entrees, maintaining a clean working environment, and ensuring the highest quality experience for our customers and guests.

Treat all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction
Take names on a waiting list and run the floor-plan board
Observe tables and keep track of clean, dirty and occupied tables
Take guest information and quote wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available
Clean, organize and stock menus at host stand
Answer phone and answer questions concerning the menu and restaurant
Interact with guests as they leave the distillery to ensure positive experience
Check on and maintain restrooms throughout shift and as needed

Ensure that assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for serving guests as needed
Collect and wash/rinse/sanitize/dry/polish empty glasses from the bar and tables
Wipe and clean bar top constantly
Fill ice bins with proper ice prior to each shift and as needed
Assist bartender with preparing simple syrups, fresh juices, etc.
Restock service stands and cocktail stations
Empty trash containers and bring dirty dishes to kitchen for cleaning
Clear tables and re-set to LRD standards
Ensure chairs and floor area around tables and bar is clean
Assist bartender and servers with duties as needed
Maintain a clean working area by sweeping, cleaning, and sanitizing

Grand Haven – Prep Cook

POSITION OVERVIEW

Long Road Distillers, Grand Haven, is adding a Prep Cook to our talented, energetic, and creative kitchen team. We work hard, enjoy what we do, and take pride in our spirits, food, and level of service. We are looking for a self-starter who will quickly amass an in-depth familiarity with the kitchen’s operations so that they may assist the Executive Chef in preparing food each day, maintaining a clean working environment, and designing new food items in partnership with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.
