Production & Canning Line Associate

Location: Long Road Distillers Production Facility – Grand Rapids
Supervisor: Head Distiller & Canning Lead
Direct Reports: None
Compensation: Hourly

The Production & Canning Line Associate plays an essential role in the daily operations of Long Road Distillers’ Ready-to-Drink (RTD) cocktail production. This position supports all aspects of distillery and canning operations, including batching, blending, carbonation, canning line operation, bottling, sanitation, and warehousing. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and consistency in every product packaged.

This position works closely with the Head Distiller and Canning Line Lead to ensure production goals are met, quality standards are upheld, and operational efficiency is maintained.

  • Prior experience in beverage manufacturing, brewing, or distilling preferred but not required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with production machinery.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain precise documentation.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Forklift experience is a plus (training can be provided).
  • Commitment to cleanliness, safety, and teamwork.
  • Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to include (but are not limited to):

  • Operate and support all functions of the canning line, including setup, monitoring, and cleanup.
  • Assist in batching, blending, mixing, and carbonation of canned beverages.
  • Perform daily CIP (Clean-in-Place) and SIP (Sanitize-in-Place) procedures within the canning facility.
  • Conduct routine quality control checks throughout production to ensure product integrity and compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production, inventory, and batch documentation.
  • Assist in bottling runs for distilled spirits as needed.
  • Perform cellar work including transfers, filtration, and cleaning.
  • Safely move and store raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods within the warehouse.
  • Support internal deliveries between Long Road facilities as required.
  • Adhere to and promote all company safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment at all times.
  • Production environment with exposure to moderate noise, wet floors, and varying temperatures.
  • Requires repetitive motion, bending, lifting, and use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Schedule may occasionally include early mornings, evenings, or weekends to meet production demands.

Bartender

Location: Long Road Distillers – Grand Rapids
Supervisor: Assistant Manager(s), Director of Hospitality Operations

Long Road Distillers – Grand Rapids is now hiring Bartenders to join our talented, energetic, and creative team. We work hard, enjoy what we do, and take pride in our spirits and level of service. We are dedicated to creating an exemplary experience for each and every customer, and need your help to accomplish that. We are looking for a self-starter who will quickly amass an in-depth familiarity with Long Road’s spirits and signature cocktails, as well as the operations of our bar and dining area. As the first line of service at Long Road, our bartenders and servers must be able to educate customers on our spirits, from the milling of the grain, all the way to the glass as part of a proper cocktail.

  • Positive interpersonal skills required
  • Previous bartending experience required
  • Excellent verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following detailed instructions
  • In-depth knowledge of craft spirits and cocktails desired

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to include (but are not limited to):

  • Construct drinks, cocktails and other bar beverages as ordered and in accordance with LRD recipes and standards
  • Greet guests, take beverage orders directly from guests and from other service staff
  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
  • Collect payment for drinks and food orders served and balance all receipts
  • Ensure that assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for serving guests prior to each shift and as needed
  • Serve snacks and food items to guests seated at bar as needed
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of spirits, cocktails, and food menu (when applicable) in order to answer questions or educate guests on LRD process and mission
  • Maintain a clean working area by sweeping, cleaning, and sanitizing as needed
  • Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards

Bartender

Location: Less Traveled by Long Road Distillers
Supervisor: Bar Manager

Less Traveled, a cocktail bar by Long Road Distillers, is in search of a Bartender to join our talented, energetic, and creative team. We work hard, enjoy what we do, and take pride in our spirits and level of service. We are dedicated to creating an exemplary experience for each and every customer, and need your help to accomplish that. We are looking for a self-starter who will quickly amass an in-depth familiarity with Long Road’s spirits and our lineup of signature cocktails.

  • Positive interpersonal skills required
  • Previous bartending experience required
  • Excellent verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following detailed instructions

Less Traveled, a cocktail bar by Long Road Distillers, is looking for a dedicated, hardworking team player to join our front of house team as a Host. We are looking for someone excited about working in a well-curated, high volume environment, who is capable of creating a unique guest experience, and has a passion for doing things the right way.

Ideal candidates will:

  • Love working with people
  • Be able to clearly communicate with customers
  • Be able to work as an integral part of a team
  • Have ability to forecast wait-times
  • Assist servers in bussing, cleaning and watering tables

Server

We are looking for a self-starter who will quickly amass an in-depth familiarity with Long Road’s spirits and signature cocktails, as well as the operations of our bar and dining area. As the first line of service at Long Road, our bartenders and servers must be able to educate customers on our spirits, from the milling of the grain, all the way to the glass as part of a proper cocktail.

  • Previous service experience strongly desired
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following detailed instructions
  • Ability to clearly communicate orders to bartenders, kitchen staff and server assistants
  • Desire to learn about craft spirits and cocktails
  • Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 25 pounds or less

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to include (but are not limited to):

  • Greet guests, take beverage orders directly from guests and from other service staff
  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
  • Collect payment for drinks and food orders served and balance all receipts
  • Serve drinks, snacks, and food orders to guests seated in dining area
  • Clear tables of dishes, utensils and glassware and bring to kitchen for washing
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of spirits, cocktails, and food menu in order to answer questions or educate guests on LRD process and mission
  • Participate in regular trainings to learn about LRD spirits, drinks and food
  • Maintain a clean working area by sweeping, cleaning, and sanitizing as needed
  • Ensure chairs and floor area around tables and waiting area are clean
  • Assist with other duties as needed, particularly during opening and closing shifts
  • Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards
